What Vedra does
A readiness check for the documentation side of CE marking. It does not replace testing or a notified body; it makes the work around them faster and easier to trace.
Applicability
Scoping questions answered from the documents, with the evidence shown. Three-valued logic: when an answer is missing, the act shows as possibly applicable and says which question decides it.
Conformity routes
For each act: the procedure that fits, and whether a notified body is needed, may be needed, or is not needed on the current answers.
Gap check
Each requirement is checked in the right document: the label, the manual, the declaration, the product page or the technical file index. You see what was found and where.
The law, quoted
Every requirement carries the article text verbatim from EUR-Lex. No paraphrases, no summaries standing in for the source.
Suggested wording
For missing items, wording to adapt, such as the simplified declaration in English and Norwegian, the class A warning or the support-period statement.
Reviewer decisions
Accept, mark not applicable or flag a gap, with a note. Your decisions flow into the matrix and the report.
Technical-file matrix
Requirement, legal basis, check, status and evidence for every item, ready to paste into Excel or your template.
Client report
A plain summary with the acts, routes, dates and actions in order of urgency.
What it cannot do
- See graphics: the CE mark or the wheeled-bin symbol on artwork must be confirmed by a person.
- Judge safety or test results. It looks for evidence in text; it does not evaluate a design.
- Read the standards themselves. Vedra lists candidate standards by number and title; the texts are copyrighted and bought from Standard Norge or your national body.
- Replace a notified body or legal advice. The manufacturer remains responsible for compliance.
How it is built
The rules are written by hand from the legal texts and compiled into a knowledge base. When the EU amends an act, the rules are reviewed and rebuilt, and a regression suite on sample products shows exactly what changed. No AI model is needed to run a check.
